Acerca de Antonio Salcedo
Nací el 3 de enero de 1943 en Sogamoso, Boyacá, Colombia. En 1948 mi familia se traslada a vivir en la ciudad de Bogotá, donde estudié teatro en la Escuela Nacional de Arte Dramático, y cine y fotografía en el Instituto Cinematográfico Colombiano. Inicialmente trabajé como actor en el Teatro Popular de Bogotá (TPB) y fui director de varios grupos de teatro.
Mi relación con la fotografía se inicia a los 18 años como una afición. Compré una cámara de fuelle, marca Voigtländer, unos libros de fotografía e inicié mi aprendizaje como autodidacta. En la fotografía encontré el medio ideal para expresar mi percepción del mundo y mi visión creativa.
Comencé a hacer fotografía humanista a partir de 1965 y continuo haciéndolo hasta día de hoy. Aunque hago fotografía publicitaria desde 1970, siempre vuelvo al tema del hombre y su entorno. Tomo fotos de personas que se encuentran en condiciones de marginación, explotación, desamparo, privación o exclusión. Lo hago, porque creo, que ninguna razón justifica que los intereses económicos particulares, estén por encima de los intereses colectivos de la humanidad en su lucha por acabar con la desigualdad social y la contaminación del planeta.
A partir el año 1970 establecí mi estudio fotográfico e inicié mi carrera como fotógrafo profesional independiente, elaborando fotos publicitarias, industriales y editoriales, para clientes directos y agencias. Actividad que continuo realizando hasta la fecha actual.
En 1979 fundé la escuela de fotografía Zona V, donde dicté clases durante 5 años.
En 1983 dicté clases de fotografía en la Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano de Bogotá, en la facultad de Comunicación Social.
En 1998 creé en asociación con mis hijos, Diego y Sandra, la marca Movipixel, donde ofrecemos servicios de fotografía fija e interactiva, presentaciones multimedia; comerciales animados para televisión, diseño interactivo y desarrollo de paginas web.
Actualmente, dedico mi tiempo, al desarrollo de nuevos proyectos fotográficos y a la elaboración de Fine Art Print de mi trabajo.
About Antonio Salcedo
I was born on January 3, 1943 in Sogamoso, Boyacá, Colombia. In 1948 my family moved to Bogota, where I studied theater at the National School of Drama. I also studied film and photography at the Colombian Filming Institute. I worked initially as an actor at the Popular Theater of Bogotá (TPB) and I was director of several theater groups.
My relationship with photography began at the age of 18 as a hobby. I bought a bellows Voigtländer camera, some photography books and I started to learn by myself. In photography I found the ideal way to express my world perception and my creative vision.
I started to work on humanistic photography from 1965 and I continue until today. Although I have worked on commercial photography since 1970, I always return to the theme of humans and their environment. I take pictures of people who are in conditions of discrimination, abuse, abandonment, deprivation or exclusion. I do, because I believe no reason justifies that particular economic interests are above the collective interests of humanity in its struggle to end social inequality and planet pollution.
From year 1970 I set up my photo studio and I started my career as a freelancer photographer, producing promotional, industrial and publishing photos, for direct clients and advertising agencies, which I keep on making.
I founded the school of photography V Zone In 1979, where I taught for 5 years.
In 1983 I taught photography lessons at Jorge Tadeo Lozano, a University of Bogota, in the Social Communication Faculty.
In 1998 I created a partnership with my son Diego and my daughter Sandra called Movipixel, where we offer services like fixed and interactive photography, multimedia presentations, animated commercials for television, interactive design and web pages development.
Currently, I spend my time developing new projects and making my work´s photographic Fine Art Print.
